Fork'n'Knife Airstream Cafe

Time flies when your having fun and that is exactly what has happened to Chef Daniel and Fork’n’Knife since 2017 began.  New ventures with the Airstream Cafe, more P&O Cruises, 2UE Radio appearances, more mouthwatering Catering, outstanding Weddings and the list keeps coming.

What did you do on Australia Day?

tigerpiesforaustraliadayWhen we think Australia Day we think Sun, Sport, Outdoors and BBQ’s right! When we think “tucka” we think Pies, Sausage Rolls, Sausage Sandwiches, Pavlova’s and Lamingtons (I’m getting hungry just writing this).  Its great to be Australian and its awesome that we have such iconic food.

For Australia Day this year, Fork’n’Knife were in the groove delivering Australian Famous Tiger Pies (Harry De’Wheels style) at the Gosford Classic Car Museum Airstream Cafe and teaming them up with fresh mouthwatering Lamingtons for those that were brave enough to withstand the Aussie heat.  We had such an awesome day thanks to everyone who visited – if you missed our Australia Day menu – never fear as it will be back again next year – mark it in the diary now!

We are really lucky to have so many people supporting us with our new venture in the Airstream Cafe and we wanted to take a minute out of our crazy day and just say thanks.  Thanks to all our customers, friends and family that make it a point to come and see us no matter where we are either at the Airstream, our Deli in Kariong or in the Food Truck – personally from Chef Daniel, Jennifer and our team, thank you!

What is an ‘Airstream’?

Fork'n'Knife 1940s Airstream Cafe

1940’s Airstream Caravan

In taking on the Airstream Cafe we’ve learnt a lot about these beautiful old caravans and have come to respect them as more than just what used to be a family caravan in the 1930’s and 40’s.  Did you know that the Airstream is actually made from Aircraft grade materials?  Neither did we, so in respect for this grand old lady we have had the Airstream’s exterior professionally polished and restored.  In 1931, Airstream began with Wally Byam’s dream: to build a travel trailer that would move like a stream of air, be light enough to be towed by a car, and create first-class accommodations anywhere.  Every inch of an Airstream has a function. Airstream is the most thoroughly tested brand in trailer history. Its engineering is the culmination of over 80 years of experience plus millions of miles on roads throughout the world.

The Gosford Classic Car Museum is one of the Central Coasts most impressive tourist attractions.  If you have been thinking of popping down for a while don’t wait, come and experience the amazing display of cars and get a fantastic Burger and Coffee when your finished.  Makes for a great day out on the coast.

So whats next?

This week we launched a brand new menu at the Airstream cafe – come down and check it out with a focus on
Burgers and Shakes there is something for everyone.  Chef Daniel is appearing on 2UE radio Lifestyle every week from 2pm on a Wednesday so be sure to tune in.  In the coming month we will also be launching the new Chef Daniel Foodie Community website so make sure to stay tuned, register as part of the Food Community and stay in touch.
